Description We are looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Jacksonville, Florida. In this role, you will provide essential accounting support, assisting with financial reporting, event-level profitability analysis, and general ledger management. The position requires a strong background in accounting principles, advanced Excel proficiency, and familiarity with Sage 50.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze event-related profitability by evaluating ticket sales, concessions, staffing, and other revenue and expense categories.

• Prepare financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements, and conduct variance analysis.

• Collaborate with operations, ticketing, and food & beverage teams to gather data and maximize revenue opportunities.

• Generate income and expense reports for various departments and events.

• Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes, making adjustments as new events are scheduled.

• Develop dashboards and performance metrics for senior management to track financial progress.

• Reconcile accounts, review discrepancies, and provide recommendations for resolution.

• Prepare journal entries and support the month-end and year-end closing processes.

• Assist with event settlements and ensure accurate financial documentation.

• Participate in audits and maintain adherence to internal control procedures. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

• At least 2 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably within the sports, entertainment, or hospitality industries.

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and the full accounting cycle.

• Proficiency in Sage 50 and advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and formulas.

• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.

• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical team members.

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
