Job Description
This individual will be working outside for an environmental company on the Geotechnical and Construction Inspection side of their business.
Responsibilities
+ Perform soil density testing using a Nuclear Density Gauge to ensure proper soil compaction.
+ Handle and maintain the Nuclear Density Gauge, which weighs between 50-75 lbs.
+ Conduct tests on construction materials such as concrete and asphalt.
+ Travel to various client sites around Indianapolis and Central Indiana to collect samples and assess quality.
+ Read and understand construction specifications to determine required soil compaction percentages for different projects.
Essential Skills
+ 6 months or more experience in Construction Material Testing (CMT) or relevant entry-level experience in construction/environmental work.
+ Ability to lift 50-75 lbs.
+ Good driving record.
+ Comfortable with extensive travel to various job sites.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ ACI Certification (Highly Preferred).
+ 10 Hour OSHA Certification (Highly Preferred).
+ CCS Drug Card.
+ Nuclear Density Gauge Certification.
Why Work Here?
Employees will receive mileage reimbursement at the national average rate of 70 cents per mile or can choose to use an Atlas Truck from the shop daily. Trucks become available for home use upon becoming a full-time employee.
Work Environment
The role is primarily field-based, subject to varying weather conditions, and involves working in potentially dirty environments. Work is typically conducted rain or shine, with hours ranging from 5-7am for a 10-12 hour day, Monday through Friday. Saturday work may be required to compensate for weather-related disruptions during the week. Expect a minimum of 40 hours per week with potential for 10-20 hours of overtime. Flexibility is essential due to the nature of outdoor work.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, Indiana.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.
