Job Title: Material Handler – Receiving & Shipping
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Material Handler to join our team on a full-time basis, working Monday through Friday from 6:30 am to 3:00 pm. This role is based in Plant 1 located in Wichita, KS. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for receiving, processing, storing, and distributing metal materials. Your role will involve operating specialized equipment and supporting warehouse operations with a strong emphasis on safety.
Responsibilities
+ Move inventory or equipment and locate materials for storage or processing.
+ Pull and assemble orders by reviewing work/shipping orders or other documentation.
+ Coordinate and execute material handling activities.
+ Perform quality control inspections and sort/package parts as directed.
+ Tag materials for proper identification and complete all required documentation.
+ Operate yard truck, forklift, and overhead crane to load and unload trailers.
+ Conduct spot checks on inventory and perform daily or ad hoc checks for proper tagging.
+ Report any irregularities to the supervisor and adhere to safety and quality standards.
+ Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
+ Complete all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
Essential Skills
+ Valid Driver’s License.
+ 0-5 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Adequate manual dexterity, finger dexterity, arm-hand steadiness, and multi-limb coordination.
+ Ability to read and comprehend written instructions.
+ Common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
+ Basic measurement and arithmetic skills for calculating and converting decimals and fractions.
+ Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
+ Sound decision-making based on knowledge, experience, and judgment.
+ Ability to lift 100 pounds occasionally and 60 pounds repetitively.
+ Ability to stand for sustained periods and push or pull 80 pounds of force.
+ Ability to go up and down off truck trailers repeatedly.
+ Capability to work in temperatures exceeding 100°F and below 32°F.
+ Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with supervisors and co-workers.
+ Certification to operate motorized material handling and rigging equipment.
+ Basic computer proficiency and knowledge of software applications.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High School diploma/GED preferred.
+ Warehousing and material handling experience preferred.

Work Environment

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wichita, Kansas.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $20.00/hr.
