Job Title: Injection Molding Process Technician
Job Description
The Injection Molding Process Technician is responsible for setting up, operating, monitoring, and troubleshooting injection molding machines and related equipment. This role ensures that production processes are optimized for efficiency, quality, and safety, while minimizing downtime and material waste.
Responsibilities
+ Perform mold changes and machine setups according to production schedules.
+ Start up and shut down machines, ensuring proper parameters are used.
+ Adjust process settings to optimize cycle times and part quality.
+ Diagnose and resolve issues related to molding defects, machine malfunctions, or material inconsistencies.
+ Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to improve processes and reduce scrap.
+ Implement process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce downtime.
+ Inspect molded parts for defects using calipers, micrometers, and visual inspection.
+ Ensure parts meet dimensional and cosmetic specifications.
+ Maintain accurate documentation of process changes and quality checks.
+ Work closely with material handlers, setup technicians, and quality inspectors.
+ Communicate effectively with supervisors and engineers regarding production issues.
+ Train and support machine operators on proper procedures and best practices.
+ Perform basic preventive maintenance on machines and auxiliary equipment.
+ Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area.
+ Report equipment issues to maintenance for timely resolution.
Essential Skills
+ 2–5 years of experience in injection molding or a similar manufacturing environment.
+ Familiarity with scientific molding principles and troubleshooting techniques.
+ Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
+ Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
+ Proficient in using measurement tools and understanding process documentation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High school diploma or GED required; technical training or certification preferred.

Work Environment
Work in a hot, noisy, and fast-paced environment. The job requires physical stamina, including the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods. Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection is mandatory.

This is a Permanent position based out of Kansas City, Missouri.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50000.00 - $70000.00/yr.
