Job Title: B Operator

Job Description

The primary function of the B Operator will be to learn all functions of the Bulk Material Handler and Scale House Operator position as part of the operator training. This training will enable the B Operator to transition smoothly into Operations as soon as a position becomes available. The Bulk Material Handler role involves performing sampling, monitoring and loading/unloading incoming trucks and railcars, monitoring tank levels, and transferring material within the tank farm on a daily basis. Additionally, the position will function as the Scale House Operator as needed. The refinery process operates 24/7, which will require work hours during nights, weekends, and/or holidays.

Responsibilities

+ Perform sampling and monitoring of incoming trucks and railcars.

+ Load and unload trucks and railcars.

+ Monitor tank levels and perform material transfers within the tank farm.

+ Function as the Scale House Operator as needed.

+ Conduct scale operations.

+ Complete general clerical duties including answering the telephone, operating the copy/fax machine, data entry, and compiling paperwork accurately.

+ Monitor assigned company email for up-to-date information, including work schedules, instructions, and production updates.

+ Learn plant operations and perform basic maintenance as requested.

Essential Skills

+ 1+ years of chemical operation experience.

+ Ability to lift 60 lbs.

+ Understand and troubleshoot basic pump operations such as cavitation, seal leaks, and vibration.

+ Use basic tools: pipe wrench, crowbar, pliers, screwdrivers.

+ Good written and verbal communication skills.

+ Basic familiarity with Windows, Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook and Excel.

+ Ability to calculate levels in tanks using basic math.

Work Environment

This position is based at an oil refinery in Columbus, where candidates will work outdoors for the full shift. Required safety attire includes a hard hat, safety glasses, FR clothing, and safety-toe shoes. At times, a full-face respirator may be required. The work environment can occasionally be dusty with limited exposure to chemicals.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbus, Ohio.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
