Job Title: Telecommunications Installation Tech - 1st shift (8am to 5pm M-F), starting pay of $20 to $30 an hour depending on skills and all local travel no overnight.

Job Description

We are seeking a telecommunications tech to join our team, specializing in the installation, service, and termination of various low voltage devices in both residential and commercial applications. The role requires testing and pulling cable, basic troubleshooting, and ensuring the proper functioning of 12V-24V components like switches, contacts, and terminals.

Responsibilities

+ Perform installation, service, and termination of low voltage devices.

+ Test and pull cables for various applications.

+ Troubleshoot basic electrical issues and perform necessary repairs.

+ Install, program, and service access control systems, CCTV systems, and security & fire alarm systems.

+ Install audio/video systems in both residential and commercial settings.

+ Conduct network connection tasks, which account for 30%-40% of the job responsibilities.

+ Participate in programming activities, which comprise 20%-25% of the job.

+ Utilize basic hand tools and service tools like multi-meters for installation and service tasks.

+ Travel locally to customer sites in a company-provided van and interact directly with customers.

Essential Skills

+ 1+ year of experience with low voltage electrical install/service or cabling.

+ 1+ year of experience using hand and power tools.

+ Proficiency in access control, CCTV, security, alarms, and fire alarm systems.

+ Ability to install and troubleshoot IP cameras and alarm systems.

+ Experience in network installation and programming.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Knowledge of analog and IP CCTV systems, cameras, and recorders.

+ Understanding of wireless and hardwired security and fire alarm systems.

+ Skills in installing and programming access door control systems.

+ Experience with audio/video system installations.

Work Environment

Work in diverse commercial and industrial properties including restaurants, retail stores, offices, manufacturing facilities, warehouses, and factories. The position requires local travel in a company-provided vehicle. Standard work hours are 8am-5pm, with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break, totaling 40 hours per week with some Saturday projects.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
