    Job Title: Process Technician

    Job Description

    We are seeking a skilled and hands-on Injection Molding Process Technician to join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving process issues related to injection molding machines, hot runner systems, and associated plastics processing equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of plastic injection molding operations and a proactive approach to continuous improvement and process optimization.

    Responsibilities

    + Set up, start, and monitor injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment.

    + Diagnose and troubleshoot process issues including part defects, machine malfunctions, and hot runner system failures.

    + Perform mold changes, machine adjustments, and parameter tuning to ensure consistent product quality.

    + Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to implement process improvements and corrective actions.

    + Maintain accurate documentation of process settings, changes, and maintenance activities.

    + Conduct root cause analysis and implement long-term solutions to recurring issues.

    + Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and production standards.

    + Train operators and junior technicians on proper machine operation and troubleshooting techniques.

    + Troubleshoot molding process issues such as flash, short-shots, sinks, and splay.

    + Assist in performing mold changes and setups as required within scheduled mold change timeframes utilizing process and cycle sheets.

    + Perform programming of molding robot arms and work cell assembly stations equipment.

    + Change-out/purge and maintain material and central material feed systems as needed.

    + Troubleshoot mold problems, developing root cause and providing a quick permanent corrective action and/or complete minor repairs.

    + Coordinate mold set-up activities with production schedules to minimize downtime and maximize production efficiencies.

    Essential Skills

    + High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in manufacturing, plastics, or mechanical technology preferred.

    + 3+ years of experience in injection molding, with hands-on experience in troubleshooting and process optimization.

    + Strong knowledge of hot runner systems, mold setup, and thermoplastic materials.

    + Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, machine manuals, and process documentation.

    + Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

    + Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Familiarity with lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.

    + Basic knowledge of hand/power tools.

    + Minimum of 1 year experience in injection molding manufacturing.

    + Minimum of 1 year experience as a process technician.

    + 1+ year(s) in a mold setup role.

    + 1+ year(s) experience in diagrams, blueprints, schematics, gauges, and measuring instruments.

    + 1+ year(s) experience troubleshooting mold problems, developing root cause and providing a quick permanent corrective action.

    + General computer skills (typing, Microsoft 365, etc.).

    Work Environment

     

    Work in a plastics industrial environment with closed doors and climate control. Enjoy new machinery and equipment in a warehouse facility. The company currently operates in a shared space with plans to obtain the full facility for operations. Join a growing company and workforce located in Evansville, IN. This is an off-shift position, requiring flexibility with 2nd and 3rd shift hours. Shift schedule: Monday - Friday, 1st: 7 AM - 3 PM, 2nd: 3 PM - 11 PM, 3rd: 11 PM - 7 AM.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract position based out of NA, Indiana.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $29.00/hr.
