Job Title: Diesel Mechanic
Job Description
Promote safety and provide excellent customer service in all activities related to vehicle maintenance and repair. Assign work schedules and duties to shop staff to optimize manpower. Prepare repair orders in compliance with company policies.
Responsibilities
+ Complete scheduled preventive maintenance, tire changes, and repairs on tractors, trailers, and tanks.
+ Issue Purchase Order numbers for shop supplies and parts required for repairs and inventory management.
+ Label and store parts on shelves in the Parts Room.
+ Contact vendors for assistance during roadside breakdowns.
+ Assist drivers with trailer preparation for loads and address issues arising during deliveries.
+ Maintain a clean, orderly, and non-hazardous shop environment.
+ Carry out additional duties as assigned by the CSC Manager.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in mechanical work and supervision.
+ Experience as a Diesel Mechanic.
+ DOT inspection experience.
+ Ability to manage and mentor a team of mechanics.
+ Skillful use of hand tools and power tools.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Tanker experience is a significant advantage.
+ Willingness to actively participate in mechanical work.
+ Strong organizational and time management skills.
+ Ability to meet qualification requirements as per Section 396.19 and 396.25 of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations for vehicle inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
+ Technical knowledge for performing inspections, repairs, and maintenance on tankers, trucks, and trailers.

Work Environment
Work involves standing for extended periods on concrete floors and may include reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, kneeling, squatting, and lifting occasionally up to 100 pounds. Good dexterity, vision, hearing, and communication skills are essential.

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $80000.00/yr.
