Job Title: Maintenance Specialist
Job Description
The Maintenance Specialist is responsible for the maintenance of all campus facilities, ensuring their optimal functionality and safety.
Responsibilities
+ Diagnose and repair minor lighting and electrical problems.
+ Prepare spaces to be "make ready".
+ Perform electronic recordkeeping related to preventative maintenance and repair activities.
+ Repair and paint damaged drywall.
+ Hang bulletin boards and shelving using squares, levels, and anchors.
+ Move furniture and prepare all campus facilities.
+ Assist with special projects and address any safety concerns on campus as needed.
+ Perform other facilities maintenance duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
+ Knowledge of how to use and operate hand tools, power tools, and equipment found in large facilities.
+ Utilization of intermediate remodel, new construction, and large-scale residential maintenance skills.
+ Ability to perform routine preventative maintenance.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High School diploma or GED equivalent.
+ Two years of experience in building maintenance or construction field.
+ Two years of experience with sheetrock, painting, and interior wall construction.
+ Must have a valid driver’s license and a clear motor vehicle record.
+ Two years’ experience in a large-scale residential maintenance or construction environment is preferred.
+ Associate degree is preferred.
+ Experience with electronic recordkeeping of work orders for computerized maintenance management is preferred.

Work Environment
Work hours are Monday through Friday, either from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm or 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. A variable schedule may be required to meet operational needs, including possible evening and weekend hours.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kansas City, Kansas.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.73 - $25.00/hr.
