Job Title: Machine Operator Assistant

Job Description

We are seeking a Machine Operator Assistant with heavy industrial experience. The role involves utilizing a computer to document production completion, ensuring the correct raw materials are loaded onto the line, and performing quality checks with micrometers and calipers. The position requires packaging tubing, verifying products, bundling and banding products, and properly identifying and tagging completed products. You will also assist with changeovers and utilize a sit-down forklift and overhead crane to load products.

Responsibilities

+ Utilize computer to document production completion.

+ Ensure correct raw material is loaded onto the line.

+ Perform quality checks with micrometers and calipers.

+ Package tubing and verify products coming off the line.

+ Bundle and band products.

+ Properly identify and tag completed products.

+ Assist with changeovers.

+ Utilize sit down forklift and overhead crane to load products.

Essential Skills

+ Experience in warehousing or stocking and/or in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

+ Math ability.

+ Heavy industrial experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Forklift experience.

+ Overhead crane experience.

Work Environment

Our work culture emphasizes teamwork towards achieving production goals. We see mistakes as learning opportunities for improvement. The dress code requires metatarsals, hard hats, glasses, long-sleeved shirts, and gloves. The environment is a dark, industrial tube mill with no windows, where conditions can be dirty and greasy. You will work 10-hour days, Monday through Thursday, with potential additional hours on Friday and Saturday.

This is a Permanent position based out of Gary, Indiana.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $43680.00 - $52000.00/yr.
