Description

This entry level operator is assigned to a specific department and will learn to perform duties on the Set-up level job description for that area. For example, an Operator – Bending would be assigned to the bending work centers and would work toward becoming a Bending Setup Operator and higher. The different departments are:

010 – Cutt off

015 – Medium Bending

016 – End Forming

018 – Large Bending

085 – Production Machine

PRIMARY DUTIES:

• Learn how to operate various types of equipment, make minor adjustments during production runs to ensure quality parts, and report issues to the Group Lead.

• Read previously prepared setup sheets and routing package for individual parts and ensure that parts are run to their dimensional requirements.

• Conduct quality inspections as required by the written Quality Procedures.

• Complete records of production.

• Move parts to the subsequent operation.

• Record scrap or rework and reasons therefore.

• Participate in the corrective action process to prevent defects from recurring.

• Participate in team meetings seeking continuous improvements for the operation.

• Operating hand pallet-jacks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

NICE TO HAVE:

• Experience with tube or sheet metal fabrication is preferred.

Anyone that's worked with metal fabrication is going to have a leg up on someone that's worked assembly line or in a packaging envioronment

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.90/hr.
