Job Description

Efficiently scan, unload, and load packages from freight trucks to cargo containers for plane transportation. Assemble the packages inside the cargo container to maximize space and fit the maximum number of packages.

Responsibilities

+ Unload and load packages onto cargo containers from trucks. Packages will arrive on carts.

+ Break down and remove packages from the carts and load them into cargo containers for airline transportation.

+ Assemble items 'Tetris style' to maximize package occupancy in cargo containers.

+ Place small boxes and mail into larger bags before loading them onto the cargo container.

+ Maintain accurate inventory records using scanning and tracking systems.

+ Follow safety protocols and conduct quality control checks.

+ Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively.

Essential Skills

+ Experience as a ramp agent, cargo handler, or warehouse worker.

+ Proficiency in loading and unloading trucks.

+ Experience in warehouse packing and material handling.

+ Knowledge of using scanners and RF scanners.

+ Ability to lift up to 50lbs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Reliable transportation to the Sacramento Airport (no public transportation available).

+ Great attendance with adherence to a strict attendance policy.

+ Willingness to submit to drug and background checks, including a 10-year airport background check.

+ Must own steel-toed boots that cover the ankle.

Work Environment

Work in a warehouse environment on-site at Sacramento International Airport, which is hot in summer and cold in winter. The shift is from 4pm to 12:30am, including weekends, with the schedule provided during orientation. Be prepared to work day, swing, or night shifts and weekends as needed.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sacramento, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
