    Job Title: Fitter

    Job Description

    As a Fitter, you will be responsible for assembling and fitting miscellaneous steel components according to technical drawings and blueprints, ensuring that they meet design specifications and quality standards.

    Responsibilities

    + Verify conformance of work pieces to specifications using squares, rulers, and measuring tapes.

    + Weld steel members efficiently and accurately.

    + Move steel members into positions manually or with hoists or cranes.

    + Position, align, fit, and weld parts to form complete units or subunits, following blueprints and layout specifications, utilizing jigs, welding torches, and hand tools.

    + Determine the appropriate method and sequence of tasks to fabricate items in the most efficient way possible.

    + Coach and train lower-level fitters to help them advance in their skill sets.

    + Assist foremen and managers in maintaining consistent workflow and production on the shop floor to ensure timely completion of projects.

    + Ensure all peers are following safety policies diligently.

    + Conduct thorough quality checks to identify and rectify defects, ensuring that the finished product meets quality standards.

    Essential Skills

    + Fabrication skills

    + Fitting expertise

    + Proficiency in flux core welding

    + Ability to use tape measures accurately

    + Blueprint reading skills

    + Strong welding capabilities

    + Production experience

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + 2+ years of experience as a fitter or fitter helper

    + Solid welding knowledge

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cleburne, Texas.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $27.00/hr.
