Job Title: Chemical Mixing Technician
Job Description
As a Chemical Mixing Technician, you will play a crucial role in processing raw materials and chemicals, following precise batch records to mix the correct ingredients to produce the final product. You will operate various machines to measure raw materials, extract samples for quality checks, and ensure compliance with documentation. This role is physically demanding and requires handling large bags of chemicals with a crane, operating mixing devices, and climbing stairs. Additionally, you will utilize computer skills to monitor and control tank levels.
Responsibilities
+ Process raw materials and chemicals according to batch records.
+ Utilize machines to measure and mix raw materials accurately.
+ Operate cranes to lift and handle large bags of chemicals.
+ Extract and provide samples for quality control.
+ Sign off on documents to verify the correct type and amount of materials.
+ Adhere to safety protocols by wearing a full uniform and respirator mask.
+ Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
+ Ability to read and understand batch records and recipes.
+ Skill in measuring chemicals and using mathematical calculations.
+ Experience in machine operation, utility, and production technician roles.
+ Attention to detail and strong reporting skills.
+ Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
+ Physical strength to handle and move materials up to 50 pounds.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ 2-4 years of manufacturing experience preferred.
+ High School Diploma or GED.
+ Experience with RF scanners, formulation, quality control, and mixer operation.

Work Environment
This position is fully on-site at a manufacturing facility in Des Moines, Iowa, operating on the 2nd shift from Monday to Friday, with start times ranging from 2pm to 4pm for 8-10 hour shifts. The work environment is a chemical plant, where you will be around moving equipment, mechanical parts, and exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and biological hazards. The dress code includes uniforms, steel-toed boots, and hair nets, and you will be required to shower after your shift.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Des Moines, Iowa.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.75/hr.
