_Assembly Technician_

Job Description

This position is for an Electrical/Mechanical Assembly Technician on the 1st shift within the DC department. The role involves assembling solar panel power boxes and switchboards in a large, clean, and quiet manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities

+ Assemble solar panel power boxes and switchboards.

+ Set up jobs for the day, including preparing panel boxes, switchboards, and wires.

+ Work on wire spooling and assembly using hand tools, air power tools, and torque wrenches.

+ Read prints to determine assembly requirements for parts into panels.

+ Assemble 64 panels per day once fully trained.

+ Work as part of a team on the assembly line and during wire spooling.

Essential Skills

+ Blueprint or schematic reading.

+ Ability to read a tape measure.

+ Experience using basic hand tools.

+ Knowledge of electrical wiring, print reading, and electrical assembly.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with crimping devices, wire machines, and strip machines.

+ Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

Work Environment

The facility is clean and manual labor is required, with lifting up to 40 lbs. Work as part of a small team (4-6 persons per team), within a total of 20 people on the 1st shift. The environment is super casual, allowing shirts with sleeves, shorts or pants without holes, and steel toe boots. Bone-conducting headphones are allowed, and safety glasses and gloves are provided if needed. The shop is equipped with fans and is non-temperature controlled.

This is a Contract position based out of Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
