Job Title: Production Line Technician
Job Description
The Production Line Technician is a lead production employee responsible for the daily leadership of line production employees. This role involves working closely with Quality Assurance, Mechanics, and Line employees to efficiently and safely produce high-quality products at low costs. The Technician serves as a leader and mentor, helping each team member succeed. The candidate will be trained and encouraged to meet the qualifications for certification, such as fork truck operation.
Responsibilities
+ Represent and project the Production Department positively in various meetings within the plant structure.
+ Maintain a high awareness of safety and lead by example.
+ Assist in creating ways to improve pack rates and perform weekly safety scans.
+ Coordinate day-to-day operations with employees and support all plant policies.
+ Assist in training, development, and communication with employees.
+ Lead Level One meetings and evaluate training needs.
+ Encourage open communication to solve problems and improve results.
+ Perform basic computer data entry and communicate effectively with the crew.
+ Understand and operate all machines, including setups, changeovers, and troubleshooting.
+ Train employees in the safe use and operation of all equipment in production.
+ Communicate mechanical concerns and ensure follow-up until repair is made.
+ Follow all quality policies and procedures, and report quality issues.
+ Perform and document periodic audit checks of line operators.
+ Evaluate product quality by sampling at various stages and documenting results.
+ Collect, verify accuracy, and file all daily quality, HACCP, and manufacturing process paperwork.
+ Keep production lines clean and perform pre-production inspections.
+ Deploy workforce efficiently and monitor production, quality, and safety.
+ Make operational adjustments based on issues and understand labor budgets.
+ Perform product changeovers and understand HMI's for OEE data entry.
+ Work overtime as needed and measure employee work performance.
+ Act as Production/Sanitation liaison and perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
+ Ability to identify machine problems and report them promptly.
+ Knowledge of causes of equipment and product loss.
+ Experience in preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent job experience.
+ Basic understanding of English and Spanish.
+ Certification in forklift operation is a plus.

Work Environment
This position is based in a manufacturing plant environment with heavy machinery and equipment. Overtime and weekend work may be required as dictated by business needs. Employees may need to switch schedules or shifts as needed. Personal Protective Equipment such as bump caps, hard hats, safety glasses, slip-resistant shoes, and earplugs are mandatory. The role involves frequent standing and walking.

This is a Contract position based out of Woodstock, Illinois.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
