    Description

    We are looking for an experienced Director of Procurement to oversee sourcing and procurement activities within the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing sectors for commercial construction projects. This role requires strategic leadership to drive cost savings, build strong supplier relationships, and ensure compliance and material availability to support large-scale initiatives. The ideal candidate is persuasive, resilient, and capable of thriving in dynamic environments while influencing stakeholders at all levels.

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement comprehensive sourcing strategies to optimize costs and ensure the availability of materials for large-scale commercial construction projects.

    • Lead supplier negotiations to secure competitive pricing, rebates, and long-term contractual agreements with distributors, OEMs, and subcontractors.

    • Establish and maintain strong partnerships with key suppliers to drive performance and ensure supply chain continuity.

    • Drive compliance and standardization across procurement processes to support operational efficiency.

    • Monitor market trends and supplier performance to identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.

    • Collaborate with project teams and field managers to align procurement strategies with project requirements.

    • Manage multi-site procurement operations and oversee large-scale sourcing initiatives to support decentralized business units.

    • Analyze procurement data to track savings, identify risks, and develop actionable insights for decision-making.

    • Ensure adherence to organizational policies and regulatory requirements within all procurement activities.

    • Provide mentorship and leadership to the procurement team, fostering growth and development.

    Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.

     

    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management within the commercial construction industry.

    • Extensive knowledge of procurement categories such as electrical supplies, plumbing, and equipment rental.

    • At least 5 years of leadership experience managing multi-site procurement operations or large-scale sourcing initiatives.

    • Proven success in negotiating with national distributors to secure competitive pricing, rebates, and supply continuity.

    • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence senior executives and cross-functional teams.

    • Results-driven mindset with a demonstrated ability to achieve cost savings and process improvements.

    • Familiarity with procurement tools and systems to streamline operations.
