Description We are looking for a skilled Medical Collections Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Maynard, Massachusetts. In this role, you will play a crucial part in managing patient accounts, negotiating payment terms, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where attention to detail and customer service are key.

Responsibilities:

• Manage patient accounts by communicating financial responsibilities, addressing billing inquiries, and arranging payment plans.

• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and internal policies related to billing and collections.

• Negotiate payment terms effectively to resolve disputes with patients, insurance providers, and other stakeholders.

• Analyze billing information to identify discrepancies and research denials for resolution.

• Utilize healthcare billing software and electronic claim submission tools to streamline operations.

• Collaborate with insurance companies, clients, and internal departments to resolve billing inquiries and disputes.

• Provide clear and precise communication to maintain positive relationships and satisfactory outcomes.

• Post payments and reconcile accounts to ensure accurate balances and resolve discrepancies. Requirements • Proven experience in medical collections, billing, and appeals.

• Strong knowledge of medical insurance processes and terminology.

• Ability to analyze billing information and address discrepancies effectively.

• Proficiency in using healthcare billing software and electronic claim systems.

• Excellent negotiation skills to handle payment terms and dispute resolutions.

• Familiarity with healthcare compliance regulations and policies.

• Effective communication and customer service skills.

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
