    Description

    HOURLY MECHANIC

    JBS- SOUDERTON, PENNSYLVANIA

    Key Responsibilities and Accountability include but are not limited to:

    Essential Job Functions:

    + Inspectand test machinery to ensure proper functioning

    + Inspect mechanical equipment tolocate damage, defects, or wearreplacing worn, damaged or defective mechanical parts as needed

    + Dismantle machines, equipment, or devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists,and hand tools, or power tools

    + Disassemble equipment for maintenance or repair

    + Operate hoistsor other moving or lifting equipment

    + Perform routine maintenance, such as inspecting drives, motors, or belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, or performing other preventive maintenance

    + Inspect mechanicalcomponents to identify problems

    + Trouble shoot electrical controls andcomponents and repair as needed

    Experience Required:

    + 2-3 years of industrial electrical experience in a food industry environment preferred

    + 2-3 years of ammonia refrigeration operation in a food industry environment preferred

    Skills/Abilities Required:

    + Basic computer skills

    + Must be able to climb ladders, lift heavy objects, work with a variety of hand and power tools and shop machines

    + Must be able to work in extreme temperatures

    + Knowledge of manufacturing/packaging equipment including hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, valves, cylinders, labeling equipment and conveyors

    + Must demonstrate a strong work ethic, organizational skills, and the ability to learn quickly

    + Must be able to work flexible hours, overtime and some weekends
