We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable **Network Security Engineer Senior** to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network security, with specific experience in managing and configuring Palo Alto firewalls, including cloud deployments for AWS, GCP, and Azure. The role involves ensuring the security and integrity of our IT infrastructure, implementing security measures, and continuously monitoring and improving our network defenses.

MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT

_As a_ **_Network Security Engineer Senior_** _, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of a critical federal client. You will play a crucial role in the following:_

+ **_Network Security Management_** **:** Design, implement, and manage security measures to protect network and information systems.

+ **_Firewall Administration_** **:** Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Palo Alto firewalls to ensure optimal performance and security.

+ **_Cloud Deployment_** **:** Deploy and manage Palo Alto firewalls in cloud environments, including AWS, GCP, and Azure.

+ **_Incident Response_** **:** Investigate and respond to security incidents and potential threats, providing timely and effective resolutions.

+ **_Policy Implementation_** **:** Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and standards in alignment with organizational goals.

+ **_Continuous Monitoring_** **:** Monitor network traffic and security alerts to identify and mitigate potential threats.

+ **_Collaboration_** **:** Work with other IT and security team members to design, implement, and maintain security frameworks.

+ **_Documentation_** **:** Maintain detailed and accurate records of configurations, changes, and security incidents.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

_Bring your cyber expertise and drive for innovation to GDIT. The_ **_Network Security Engineer Senior_** _must have:_

**● Education:** Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science

**● Experience:** 5+ years of related experience

• Required Skills:

+ In-depth knowledge of Palo Alto firewall configuration and management.

+ Strong experience with deploying and managing Palo Alto firewalls in cloud environments, including AWS, GCP, and Azure.

+ Strong understanding of network protocols, firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and other security technologies.

+ Proven experience with other security devices and platforms.

+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

+ Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

• **Preferred Skills:**

+ Relevant certifications (e.g., Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer - PCNSE) are a plus.

+ Experience with network monitoring and security tools (e.g., SIEM, IDS/IPS).

+ Familiarity with regulatory and compliance standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST).

+ Experience with scripting and automation tools.

+ Knowledge of cloud security best practices.

The likely salary range for this position is $121,125 - $163,875. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
