Job Title: Import-Export Classification Specialist
Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Import-Export Classification Specialist to ensure accurate and timely import and export operations in compliance with government regulations and corporate policies. This role requires a strong understanding of customs brokerage and trade compliance best practices, with the ability to work independently and make informed decisions.
Responsibilities
+ Support the management of import and export activities in compliance with government regulations and corporate policies.
+ Monitor changes in tariff or duty-related programs and assess their impacts on operations.
+ Coordinate with Business Units and legal teams to qualify goods and manage trade agreements.
+ Support post-entry activities, including corrections, protests, and disclosures.
+ Maintain product dictionaries and ensure accurate classification and tariff designations.
+ Execute audits related to imports, exports, and free trade agreements.
+ Monitor and manage export control activities, including licensing and permits.
+ Develop processes and report on duty/tax claims and facilitate refunds.
+ Support CTPAT or other trade compliance functions as needed.
Essential Skills
+ Strong working knowledge of import and export activities and customs brokerage.
+ Practical knowledge of CBP compliance best practices and regulations.
+ Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and make informed decisions.
+ Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
+ Ability to work under pressure and manage complex issues.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Undergraduate degree in supply chain logistics/distribution, finance, accounting, international business, or related field.
+ Minimum of 6 years of practical experience in customs and international trade.
+ Current customs broker’s license is desired but not required.
Work Environment
This is a 100% remote position offering a long-term contract opportunity. You will work in an environment with both recurring and non-recurring tasks, requiring attention to detail and the ability to manage complex situations.

This is a Contract position based out of Newark, New Jersey.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
