    Job Title: Payroll & HR Associate

     

    Schedule: Full-time

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Payroll & HR Associate to join our Hicksville office and support our growing workforce.

    Position Overview

    This role is evenly split between Payroll (50%) and HR (50%) responsibilities. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate payroll processing and provide comprehensive HR support, including onboarding, benefits administration, compliance, and employee relations.

    Key Responsibilities

    Payroll (50%)

     

    + Process biweekly and weekly payroll using Paychex Flex.

    + Maintain accurate employee records for new hires, terminations, and changes.

    + Generate ad hoc reports, including 401(k) census and headcount data.

    + Post payroll entries to the general ledger.

     

    Human Resources (50%)

     

    + Prepare offer letters and manage onboarding documentation.

    + Complete and file I-9 forms; establish and maintain employee records.

    + Coordinate state-mandated compliance training (e.g., sexual harassment prevention).

    + Draft job postings and assist with interview scheduling and candidate screening.

    + Serve as a point of contact for employee benefit inquiries.

    + Support HRIS management and process improvements.

    Qualifications

    Required:

    + Minimum 3 years of payroll experience, specifically with Paychex Flex.

    + Strong understanding of payroll processes, including pivot tables and general ledger postings.

    + Experience with onboarding, benefits administration, and job description creation.

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.

    + Solid knowledge of HR practices and employment law.

    + Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

    + High attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.

    Preferred:

    + PHR or SHRM-CP certification.

    + Experience working in a unionized environment.
