Birth Registrar PAS - Financial Counseling Services Full Time Days

Work location: Texas Health Dallas - 8200 Walnut Hill Lane, Dallas, Texas 75231
Work hours: Full Time, 40 hours, Monday-Friday day shift with rotating Saturdays
Training: Must be available for one week of system training at 612 E Lamar Blvd, Arlington, TX 76011 and at least two weeks of classroom training required Monday - Friday from 8:30am-5pm at 500 E Border, Arlington, TX; Training weeks may not be consecutive.

Here's What You Need
+ High School Diploma or Equivalent required
+ 2 years of customer service experience required and
+ 1 year of healthcare experience including Medical Records (HIM) preferred
+ Experience processing birth certificates preferred
+ AOP Certification required within 60 days of hire and
+ Texas Birth Registrar Certification required within 60 days of hire and
+ Digital Fingerprinting Background Check required within 60 days of hire and
+ CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training required within 90 days of hire
+ Ability to promptly assess requests by using electronic and paper resource materials and correctly respond to patient inquiries.
+ Excellent data entry, numeric, typing and computer navigational skills, with attention to details. Proficient computer skills, medical terminology, Epic, Microsoft Office and assorted software programs. Exhibits a pleasant, professional, polished presence exhibiting the ability to troubleshoot utilizing critical thinking skills. Requires exceptional listening, interpersonal and communication skills, and professional, pleasant and respectful telephone etiquette.
+ Ability to maintain a professional demeanor in a highly stressful and emotional environment, to include crime, behavioral health and suffering patients in addition to life or death situations.
+ Must be able to exhibit a high level of empathy with the ability to effectively communicate with patients and family members during life changing events, while demonstrating exceptional customer service skills.
+ Demonstrates ability to manage multiple, changing priorities in an effective and organized manner and appropriately escalating concerns to leadership.
What You Will Do
+ Compassionately and accurately collects required information and identification for timely completion of birth certificate following all necessary steps to ensure validity.
+ Clearly and effectively communicates Texas Laws and regulations of paternity to intended parents to ensure understanding and compliance.
+ Ensures compliance with state of Texas laws and regulations.
+ Obtains completed ImmTrac (Texas Immunization) Registration Form and Social Security Form from parent. Assists parents with paternity paperwork, denials, and information changes.
+ Knowledgeable in all areas of birth registration including Surrogacy and Adoption.
+ Meets all required deadlines including submitting documentation within 5 days of every birth and can efficiently work in a fast-paced environment.
+ Required to utilize multiple software systems in effort to finalize all required documents including but not limited to Epic and Texas Electronic Vital Events Registrar (TxEver).
