About this role:

Wells Fargo Merchant Services is seeking a Senior Underwriting Manager to lead the large merchant underwriting team.

In this role, you will:

+ Manage and develop teams providing analysis, consulting, reporting, and ongoing process support to drive credit culture, appetite, and business performance with input from leadership

+ Engage and influence stakeholders, internal partners, and peers associated with the Credit Portfolio Consulting functional area or who are affected by its outcomes

+ Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement and risk control development through business analysis or modeling

+ Contribute to the development of appropriate strategies to ensure risk is within risk appetite

+ Determine appropriate strategies and actions to meet moderate to high risk deliverables

+ Interpret and develop credit policies and procedures for functions with moderate complexity within scope of responsibility

+ Collaborate with and influence all levels of professionals, including more experienced managers, and maintain relationships with corporate and business heads

+ Interact directly with external customers

+ Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Credit Portfolio Consulting

+ Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy

Required Qualifications:

+ 6+ years of Credit Portfolio Consulting experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

+ 3+ years of management or leadership experience

Desired Qualifications:

+ Merchant acquiring risk management

+ Commercial credit underwriting & portfolio management

+ Financial statement & merchant business model analysis

+ Partnering with Product on tool & infrastructure development

+ Policy operationalization

+ Identifying & improving inefficiencies
