Seeking a Veterinary Technician Supervisor!

**Location:** 6161 Lake Michigan Dr, Allendale, MI 49401

**Compensation:** The pay range for this position is $25-$30/hr

Our Licensed Veterinary Technicians are trusted by our Veterinarians. Our team works together seamlessly to provide exceptional care to each patient from intake to discharge. You’ll be joining a collaborative and supportive environment where your skills are valued and your growth is encouraged.

**Key Responsibilities** :

+ **Patient Care** : Provide high-quality nursing care to patients, including administering treatments, medications, and monitoring their recovery.

+ **Anesthesia and Surgery** : Assist veterinarians with surgical procedures, including anesthesia induction, monitoring, and post-operative care.

+ **Diagnostics** : Perform diagnostic tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and radiographs, ultrasounds, ensuring accurate results and timely processing.

+ **Client Education** : Engage with clients to provide clear communication on their pets’ health, treatment plans, and preventive care.

+ **Record Keeping** : Maintain accurate and detailed medical records for each patient.

+ **Technician Utilization** : Play a pivotal role in all areas of patient care, from routine exams to critical care cases, ensuring your technical skills are fully utilized.

In the supervisor role, your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

+ Directing work flow on the floor

+ Assists in the educational development of technicians and their skills

+ Help with the interview process for potential new hires

+ Technician Scheduling

+ Assists in staffing and coverage where needed

+ Assists in basic protocol and standard procedure training

+ Provide opportunities for staff to gain more firsthand experience

+ Mentoring technicians within the department

+ Working with department doctors to develop protocols to improve the service

+ Ensure that VCA polices, guidelines, and recommendations are implemented by all members of the technical staff.

Qualifications:

+ Licensed Veterinary Technician certification in MI.

+ Proficiency in technical skills including surgery prep and monitoring anesthesia.

+ Passion for mentoring Technicians and Assistants.
