Description
This position is responsible for researching and drafting scientific manuscripts and leading the creation of technical product stories & scientific content, leveraging the science behind our technologies & products. Scientific Communications define the core messages to be communicated for technologies, identify who to influence externally from Regulatory to commercial partners to dermatologists/academics to consumers, and communicate the science synergistically via publications, claims, visuals & demos.
+ Define the core scientific messages, and lead the creation of technical product stories & content, leveraging the science behind our technologies & products.
+ In collaboration with commercial team, manage calendar for initiatives and delivery of content.
+ Represent SciComms in all relevant meetings, and fulfil all required tasks in support of launches.
+ Provide feedback loop to Global SciComms on content leverage, business partner and consumer feedback, and opportunities
+ Collaborate closely with key colleagues and customers, including commercial, technical, legal/regulatory, as well as external influencers, to communicate the science synergistically via publications, claims, scientific communication collaterals, visuals & demos.
+ Lead story/demo development for specific technologies or products. Collaborate with multi⁃functional teams to create technical storytelling and Demos & Visuals on key products/technologies for use in education, digital and instore.
+ Design new communications (stories, illustrations, animations, technical releases, brochures, advertorials) tailored by brand and audience to explain underpinning science behind core product technologies or research areas. Own internal storyboard artwork for specific brands and franchises, align commercial team and brief agency on those storyboards.
+ Learn and help execute brand specific near, mid and long⁃term Scientific Communications credentialing strategies by brand.
+ Ownrelationship and approvals of scientific content with brand and legal.
+ Own ongoing competitive Scientific Communications and Credentialing assessments for key competition.
+ Mine data on hero products for new claims articulations.
+ Demonstrate ability to understand complex technical information and translate it into succinct and impactful key messages.
+ Demonstrate technical curiosity, the ability to think strategically and to work independently. Exhibit strong interpersonal skills, rapidly building credibility and collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
+ Advanced Scientific Degree: PhD, PharmD, MS, etc 2+ years Scientific Communications or advanced post doc exp will be considered
+ 15⁃20 percent Travel
+ Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, towards both technical and non⁃technical audiences; Written: demonstrated ability to write sound scientific documents (abstracts, posters, manuscripts, etc.) & Oral: demonstrated ability to be a credible scientific speaker in front of a broad spectrum of audiences
+ Experience in working with commercial teams to create scientific communications for Product launches
+ Ability to search and critically review relevant peer⁃reviewed scientific literature
+ Digital aptitude and experience in developing channel appropriate content for digital platforms
+ Events, meetings and congress detailing experience
+ Experience working in a matrix environment ideal but not required
+ Technical writing experience in the life or health sciences, including developing scientific publications (abstracts, posters, oral presentations, manuscripts, conducting literature reviews)
+ Passion for make⁃up, skin, hair science and the science of Beauty
