Description of Job
This is a part-time, temporary position
Standard Assessment:
+ Performs admission skin assessments, identifying and documenting skin condition. Identifies and implements appropriate nursing interventions, treatment care plans and physician referrals.
+ Documents on current, accurate and pertinent information regarding care and treatment provided to individual residents.
+ Indicates specific change in status, medications and physicians’ orders.
+ Detects abnormality and potential abnormalities in resident’s skin as indicated by symptoms, vital signs and laboratory results and reports information to physician.
Infection Prevention and Control.
+ Ensure compliance with State and Federal requirements, accreditation bodies, and division policies and clinical responsibilities.
+ Participates as an integral team member, collaborating with various departments and colleagues, including Safety Officer, Director of Nursing and Human Resources Personnel to advocate for resident and employee health and safety.
+ Responsible for coordinating the infection control program which includes surveillance, analysis of data, developing reports, reviewing and updating policies.
+ Responsible for the employee health program and monitor residents’ infections, antibiotic use and stewardship programs.
+ Manages employees’ TB/flu screening program with assistance of Director of Nursing, supervisors and department managers.
+ Prepares and submits Infection Prevention and Control Plan annually to QAPI, and monthly infections, types, locations, treatment and antibiotic use to QAPI monthly.
+ Monitor and track employee illnesses to determine necessary interventions and work restrictions needed for work related illnesses.
Nursing Duties as Assigned.
+ Assures compliance with facility policies and procedures within the parameters of RN knowledge and skills to ensure resident needs are met.
+ Assists in the delegation of duties to provide the most effective coverage to ensure quality and continuity of care.
+ Participate in QAPI committee meetings, complete audits and reports, and assist with development of State and VA Survey Plans of Correction if applicable.

Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights
Education/Licensure/Certification/Experience:
Current, valid licensure as a Registered Nurse from the Colorado Board of Nursing or any state participating in the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC) Three (3) years of professional experience in an occupational field related to the work assigned to the position
Substitutions
Appropriate education will substitute for up to two (2) years of the required experience on a year-for-year basis

CBI name check and fingerprint check, ICON Colorado court database, Medicare fraud database, Reference Checks, Professional License verification (licensure requirements), Drug Screen, PREA (Division of Youth Services), Trails check (direct contact with children), CAPS (direct contact with adults – Mental Health Institutes, Regional Centers, Veterans Community Living Centers)
+ Shift Work: Days, evenings, nights, weekends, and/or holidays
+ Former State employees who were disciplinarily terminated or resigned in lieu of termination must disclose the information on the application and provide an explanation why the prior termination or resignation should not disqualify the applicant from the current position. Absent extraordinary circumstances, prior disciplinary termination or resignation in lieu of termination will disqualify the applicant from future State employment with CDHS.
