Precipart, located in Farmingdale, NY, is seeking a Materials Handler to join our Logistics team. As a Material Handler, you are responsible for efficiently receiving, examining, moving, and tracking raw materials. This role assigns materials to the appropriate shop packets to ensure accurate distribution to departments, prepares materials using the correct tools as outlined in each shop packet, and coordinates the timely transportation of parts to and from vendors. The Materials Handler also maintains a safe, organized, and productive work environment, supporting smooth operations across the organization.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
+ Load, unload, examine, and move materials within the plant utilizing a forklift (preferred).
+ Read and interpret routers/shop packets to ensure parts are delivered to the correct operation or department.
+ Issue raw materials to corresponding shop packets and designated departments.
+ Count, weigh, and compare incoming and outgoing shipments against packing slips, purchase orders, and job folders with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and time management.
+ Reject damaged items, red tag them, and coordinate with the Q/A Director to resolve issues or obtain material certifications.
+ Perform secondary operations on materials, such as tipping (chamfering), cutting, or drilling.
+ Attach identity tags or labels to materials.
+ Separate raw material chips by material type and store appropriately for removal.
+ Drive company vehicle to drop off or pick up parts from vendors as needed.
+ Maintain accurate records and store materials in an organized and traceable manner.
+ Record number of material units moved or handled.
+ Maintain warehouse and work area in accordance with safety and cleanliness standards.
+ Responsible for conforming with the company’s quality management system requirements, as well as contributing to its overall effectiveness, and the ultimate goals of customer satisfaction, product compliance and ethical practices/behavior.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / SKILLS / EDUCATION
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
+ 1+ years of relevant work experience
+ Detail-oriented with strong communication skills
+ Valid driver’s license with clean driving record (for operating company vehicle)

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE / SKILLS / EDUCATION
+ Forklift operators experience preferred
Pay Range: $18.00 to $19.00 an hour
The compensation for this role will be determined through our assessment process, taking into account your qualifications.
