Special Education Teacher | $55–$58/hr | Full-Time | The Dalles, OR | Elementary Autism Support | 2025–2026 School Year

Amergis Educational Staffing is hiring a full-time Special Education Teacher to serve as a Learning Specialist with North Wasco County School District in The Dalles, Oregon. This position begins October 27, 2025, and runs for 39 weeks through the 2025–2026 school year.

Position Overview:

+ Location: The Dalles, OR

+ Start Date: October 27, 2025

+ Contract Length: 9 months (2025–2026 school year)

+ Schedule: Monday–Friday, 37.5 hours/week

+ Pay Rate: $55–$58/hr (based on experience)

+ Modality: In-person

+ Position Type: Elementary School

+ Openings: 1

Position Details:

+ Caseload of approximately 15 high-needs students, including non-verbal students with autism

+ Goal: Transition students toward increased time in general education

+ Support team includes a co-teacher, speech assistant (3 days/week), and multiple educational assistants

+ Facilitator model: Learning Specialist provides related services and contributes to present levels and goals, but does not manage cases

Minimum Requirements:

+ Valid Oregon teaching certificate (Special Education preferred)

+ Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (preferred)

+ At least one year of experience as a SPED Teacher

+ Experience working with students with autism

+ LBS1 endorsement (preferred)

+ CPR certification, TB clearance, and health certificate as applicable

+ Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements

+ Must be at least 18 years of age
