The Sales Manager is responsible for the credit union’s member center-based and member help center retirement solutions program and supervisory of member center-based and member help center based financial advisors primarily through the sale of non-depository investment and insurance products. Primary responsibilities include member retirement planning, investment planning, wealth management planning, college planning, estate planning and insurance needs .
1) Manages member center and member help center based aspects of non-depository investment and insurance products. Including oversite of financial advisors assigned to member center and member help center locations. (30%)
2) Build member center and member help center relationships, this will include setting up regular meetings, attending branch huddles, and providing one-on-one training with partners via bi-monthly branch visits. (25%)
3) Provide training for member center and member help center partners. Keep training material and reference guide material up to date. Expands the capabilities of subordinates through coaching, training, and appraisal. Interviews and hires for open positions. (25%)
4) Represents the credit union in dealing with major clients, community organizations, select employer groups, industry organizations, the broker/dealer, regulators, wholesalers, and other key outside organizations. (10%)
5) Ensure assigned business units are operating efficiently and reliably, are in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and rules, have appropriate operating controls to mitigate risk, and are performing at a high level. (10%)
Required Skills
1) Bachelor’s degree is required.
2) FINRA Series 7 securities license, FINRA Series 66 securities license required at hire. FINRA Series 24 securities license required within 6 months of employment.
3) Life, health, variable products insurance licenses required.
4) Demonstrated ability to learn and comprehend sophisticated financial planning concepts.
5) Demonstrated ability to manage the sales and operations functions of an investment program.
6) Demonstrated ability to learn and adhere to federal and state regulations/laws as they pertain to investment and/or insurance.
7) Demonstrated ability to effectively sell financial services products.
