Are you a Registered Nurse who’s passionate about chronic disease management and patient education? Guthrie is hiring a Full-Time RN Diabetes Care Coordinator to join our Endocrinology Clinic — where your clinical expertise and compassion help patients take control of their health.
This is a day-shift, clinic-based role with no bedside care, offering predictable hours, meaningful patient relationships, and the chance to grow within a respected health system.

• About Guthrie Endocrinology
Our Endocrinology Clinic provides specialized care for patients managing diabetes, thyroid disorders, and other endocrine conditions. As part of the Guthrie Clinic network, we’re committed to clinical excellence, compassionate service, and a workplace where nurses thrive.
Position Summary: Sets and maintains standards of nursing care within the Diabetes Center, which is an integral part of the Endocrinology Department.
Education, License & Cert, Experience:
+ Must be a Certified Pump Trainer, possess CDE, must have Current PA and NY nursing license, and must be able to travel. Must meet requirements for CEU’s yearly.
+ RN with current license in State where employment is located.
Essential Functions:
+ Participate in marketing of Diabetes Center Services:
+ Community outreach ‐ health fairs, Lunch and Learns, Physician offices, speaking services to
+ Area Industry (i.e. Lockheed Martin), Nursing organizations and School systems, Annual
+ Diabetes Children’s Day Camp
+ Participation Committees promoting outreach: currently RPH AD Hoc outreach committee
+ Development and review brochures and educational materials for outlying offices
+ Ongoing development and review Diabetes Specific Information for Guthrie website
+ Speakers Bureau member for National Diabetes Related Companies.
+ Policies & Procedures:
+ Oversight and development of policies for Hospital staff of care and practice for Diabetes population including newly diagnosed, poorly controlled and insulin pump therapy
+ b. Development resource materials specific to Endocrine department Nursing staff for medication delivery/documentation/billing.
+ Oversight and review of Contractual services revenue generating for the Diabetes Center:
+ Pump training reimbursement contracts: annual review for payment provisions, appropriate payment percent increases for services provided
+ Completion policy forms for incoming contracts
+ Provide and oversees training of staff to provide contracted pump training
+ Appropriate forms submission and documentation for payment of services at completion of training
+ Documentation monthly training payables and submission to finance
+ Hospital contract maintenance: Documentation of patient education provided and submission of billable hours to finance on monthly basis for payment of services.
+ Maintenance of American Diabetes Association records mandated for billing of Diabetes Education
+ Services Organization and updating of professional staff licensing information, Certification information and continuing education records for non‐certified staff required for application maintenance
+ Organization of demographic details and patient populations served by the center annually for maintenance of application
+ Oversight and development of curricula for education program required for application maintenance
+ Completion and submission annual review forms to ADA to maintain recon ignition status
+ Notify ADA in timely manner of program/staffing changes for maintenance of recognition
+ Oversight and completion of renewal status for ADA recognition every 3 years
+ Serve as Chair to Diabetes Advisory Board for program services review including population served/ behavior change statistics/outcome measures/CQI process
+ Chart reviews to assure documentation meets ADA standards for recognition.
+ Provide Diabetes Education in individual/group settings:
+ Perform individual needs assessment to determining educational objectives
+ Establish educational plan/goals
+ Measure behavior change and track outcome data
+ Documentation of education and communication to Referring Physician and other Diabetes Team members of patient progress
+ Billing of services per ADA/Medicare Guidelines
+ Completion of POCT testing and documentation including, but not limited to, Glycohemoglobin A1c and blood sugar checks.
+ Ensure all patient paperwork related to, but not limited to, pumps and cgms is completed in a timely manner.
+ Participate in Staff Evaluation process.
+ Preceptor to new staff, PA’s/NP’s/Medical Residents and nursing students looking to increase their personal skills with the Diabetes population.
+ Professional Development: Maintenance annual requirements of CEU’s for CDE maintenance and recognition status, participation in local journal CDE journal clubs, and participation in Guthrie sponsored symposiums.
+ Available to help with all other office operations to include: glycos, retrieve messages from answering machine from patient’s daily blood readings.
+ Makes call backs to patients with medication changes and documents in patient record.
+ Serves as liaison between physicians, staff and patients to ensure adequate communication.
