Our Marketing, Communications, and Business Development (MCBD) team boosts Arup by improving our image, connecting with clients, securing projects, and attracting professionals. This role will be key in achieving our strategic market and client ambitions. We are seeking to hire an East Geography Marketing Winning Work Manager [Energy, Water, & Resources (EWR) ] to strengthen our MCBD function.
What the role involves:
The East Geography Marketing Winning Work Manager [EWR] is the senior manager in the East geography marketing team. The role includes support for two businesses in the portfolio – Energy and Water. The East Geography includes five offices – New York, New Jersey, Boston, Washington DC, and Chicago, requiring close coordination across these locations with our energy and water teams.
This role will work directly with Arup’s East Geography Energy and Water Business Leaders and Geography Marketing, Communications and Business Development (MCBD) Leaders to ensure seamless and efficient delivery of marketing and bidding activities in alignment with the goals of our Americas-wide business plans.
Our East Marketing Manager [EWR] can be based in **New York** or **Boston** offices.
Geography EWR Marketing Team Management
+ Manage the Geography Energy and Water marketing team and mentor staff among the wider marketing team on work winning activities specific to the EWR Portfolio.
+ Responsible for team resourcing and overseeing delivery of EWR Portfolio marketing in geography.
+ Proactively connect and coordinate with leaders in Arup’s EWR Portfolio to create a cohesive and consistent approach to our marketing activities and set short-term and long-term goals.
+ Support attendance of local conferences and events, acting as an external-facing representative and liaising with clients, partners, and other stakeholders to strengthen relationships and visibility (for the Energy and Water markets).
+ Advocate for knowledge management and knowledge sharing to support better practice and continuous learning driving consistency of MCBD delivery.
+ Foster a collaborative, inclusive and innovative culture, championing connectivity and collaboration across the geography marketing and work winning teams, enabling joint working and resource flexibility.
Winning Work:
+ Oversee and review proposal, qualifications, and interview prep delivered by the wider energy and water teams.
+ Work with technical leaders and client managers to build and manage a string pipeline in CRM, supporting monthly and quarterly reviews and revenue goals.
+ Guide prepositioning and oversee bidding for major pursuits for large-scale energy and water projects.
+ Oversee and/or facilitates capture planning strategy sessions and assist in client and market focused research activities.
+ Work with our technical leaders, guide the development of client-focused win strategies for proposals and statements of qualification to successfully capture work.
+ Guide the development and execution of go/no-go decision-making.
+ Support the identification and ongoing management of M/W/DBE collaborators, including maintaining an up-to-date database of qualified vendors and assisting with outreach and engagement efforts.
+ Oversee pre-interview planning and presentation rehearsal, and help develop and apply established win strategy, themes, and discriminators in presentation materials.
+ Support managed client programs through client action planning and activity tracking in CRM.
+ Oversee the management and maintenance of energy and water collateral, provide feedback, and actively engage in improving our marketing content, including project sheets, resumes, and other collateral.
+ Develop new marketing content such as presentations, brochures, and project examples to support the EWR Portfolio and subsequent businesses.
+ Work with our Americas EWR marketing team to bring the best of our global experience to our local clients.
+ Maintain consistent quality, corporate identity, and graphic standards.
Client Systems
+ Support the Head of Geography Marketing to ensure the geography team data is aligned with Client Systems processes.
+ Responsible for ensuring Geography EWR data quality meets global and regional standards.
The Opportunity
+ 7+ years of proven experience in senior marketing, and business development role in the Energy and/or Water industries within a service, B2B, B2G industry with complex procurement, long sales cycles.
+ Experience and knowledge of the Energy and/or Water markets in the US, particularly in the eastern US states, including direct engagement with clients in these sectors.
+ Involvement with local industry organizations.
+ Experience with large-scale prime proposals.
+ Experience developing market-facing capabilities brochures and pitch decks.
+ Confident, self-motivated, independent, and proactive.
+ Need to have energetic, positive demeanor, with proven track record to juggle/respond to multiple tasks.
+ Experience in the following computer applications: Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office, MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
+ Demonstrate experience in building trusted, influential relationships with senior, internal and external stakeholders.
+ Experience of people management across multiple offices and/or countries, resource management.

**New York Hiring Range** – Hiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in New York is $114,100 to $135,000 per year. **This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level.** Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of New York will differ.
