    Description

    Position Summary

    The Director of Marketing – Nevada is responsible for leading the development and execution of marketing, communications, digital media, and event strategies for WestCare programs across Nevada. This role ensures consistent branding, impactful storytelling, and effective community engagement across diverse platforms. The Director provides strategic oversight of events, fundraising support, media relations, and digital content while collaborating with internal teams and external partners to promote WestCare’s mission, vision, and values.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities Marketing & Communications

    + Develop and implement regional marketing and communications strategies to promote WestCare’s programs, services, and initiatives in Nevada.

    + Maintain and enforce brand consistency across all marketing materials, campaigns, and communication channels.

    + Write, edit, and approve marketing collateral, including newsletters, brochures, press releases, signage, presentations, and digital assets.

    + Manage crisis communications and act as a key communications contact during emergencies.

    Event & Fundraising Support

    + Plan, coordinate, and promote outreach events, fundraising campaigns, conferences, and exhibitions.

    + Create and distribute event-related marketing materials such as invitations, programs, posters, branded awards, and sponsorship packages.

    + Collaborate with Development teams to align fundraising initiatives with communications and promotional strategies.

    + Represent WestCare at community events, conferences, and external functions to enhance visibility and donor engagement.

    Digital Media & Social Media

    + Oversee Nevada social media presence across multiple platforms (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Vimeo, LinkedIn, X/Twitter, etc.).

    + Direct the creation of digital campaigns, newsletters, and email marketing to engage diverse audiences.

    + Supervise the filming, editing, and production of short videos, digital ads, and multimedia content to promote services and enhance community awareness.

    + Manage Google Business Profiles and Bing Places for Nevada entities.

    Media & Public Relations

    + Serve as a key media contact for Nevada, coordinating press coverage, interviews, and promotional opportunities.

    + Draft and distribute press releases highlighting programs, events, and achievements.

    + Build and maintain relationships with media outlets, partners, vendors, and community stakeholders.

    + Support public affairs projects, including letters to the editor and community campaigns.

    Team & Project Leadership

    + Triage and assign marketing requests for Nevada, ensuring timely delivery of collateral and communications.

    + Mentor and guide regional marketing assistants, interns, or contractors as designated.

    + Partner with the VP of Marketing & Communications to contribute to national and global marketing initiatives while tailoring approaches to local community needs.

    + Monitor and report on marketing performance metrics to evaluate campaign success and recommend improvements.

    Qualifications

    ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

     

    + Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Graphic Design, or related field.

    + Minimum 5 years’ progressive experience in marketing, communications, public relations, or nonprofit event management.

    + Proven expertise in digital and print media, social media management, and event/fundraising promotion.

    + Strong copywriting, editing, and content development skills.

    + Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Microsoft Office, and familiarity with project management tools.

    + Excellent organizational, project management, and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

    + Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

    WORKING CONDITIONS:

    + Travel required across Nevada for events, outreach, and media opportunities.

    + Varied shifts may include evenings, weekends, and holidays for special events.

    + Professional appearance and demeanor required.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    + Occasional lifting of more than 10 pounds.

    + Sitting, standing, walking, reaching are performed in the normal course of the position.

    + The normal work routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues, BUT exposure or potential exposure may be required as a condition of employment. Appropriate personal protective equipment will be readily available to every employee engaged in Category II tasks.
