• Junior Database Developer

    Job Description

    An employer in Houston is looking for a Junior Database Developer. This person will be developing PL/SQL packages, procedures, triggers and functions. This person will mainly be doing production support, responding to multiple user requests if for example the performance of is too slow. This person will be working closely with UI teams and using cursors, XML, and JSON to integrate data. This person will be joining a team of 9 people and will be working 100% onsite in downtown Houston.

     

    Based on knowledge and years of experience, this position offers an hourly rate range of $45-65/hr.

    Skills and Requirements

    Experience with at least one relational database (Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, etc.).

     

    Proficiency in SQL; PL/SQL experience is a plus.

     

    Ability to write queries for data analysis and reporting.

     

    Understanding of MERGE operations in SQL.

     

    Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

     

    Willingness to learn and grow in a collaborative environment. Familiar with Oracle Exadata.

     

    Experience with SingleStore and MySQL is a big plus.

     

    Skilled in Python, including libraries for database connections, requests, JSON, and pandas.

     

    Oil and Gas industry experience.
