Job Description

The Children’s Coordinator ensures a smooth and welcoming intake experience for children and youth entering designated clinics. Serving as the main contact for children and their legal guardians, the coordinator guides families through intake, registration, and admission.

Key responsibilities include:

- Verifying referral/background info and initiating client records in the EHR.

- Scheduling psychiatric evaluations and follow-ups.

- Providing welcome packages and maintaining communication with guardians.

- Re-engaging families after missed or canceled appointments.

- Offering service information and facilitating referrals to appropriate care.

- Conducting in-person intake meetings

- Following up with no-shows, post-first appointments, and hospitalized clients.

- Supporting transportation coordination to reduce missed first visits.

- Monitoring engagement for the first 60 days to improve retention.

Skills and Requirements

- Bachelor’s Degree in: Psychology, Social Work, Child Development, Behavioral Science, or a related field preferred.

- 2+ years of experience working in a behavioral health, medical, or social services setting, preferably with children and families.

- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and familiarity with intake, scheduling, and registration processes required.

- Prior experience coordinating care, scheduling appointments, or performing patient outreach in a clinical environment highly desirable.

- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and other privacy regulations.
