    Job Description

    A client of Insight Global is looking for a High Performance Computing Systems Engineer to join their team in Baltimore, MD. This individual will be responsible for supporting multiple clusters, with a variety of different nodes. They will spend about 70% of their time troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues, such as node failures and network problems, often collaborating with vendors for repairs. They will work both onsite, both remote system management and onsite troubleshooting of hardware components and interconnect failures for both compute and storage systems , remotely, performing command-line operations in a Linux/Unix environment. Additionally, they will develop and maintain automation scripts using Bash and Python, manage system monitoring and telemetry to optimize performance, and have the freedom to explore innovative solutions and projects when time allows.

     

    Hybrid Work schedule - 2-3 days on site

     

    Salary Range $93,000-128,000

     

    Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

     

    Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.

    Skills and Requirements

    • Bachelor’s and 5 years of experience

     

    o Direct experience supporting High Power Computing (HPC) systems

     

    o  Including job scheduling and cluster operations.

    o Additional years of experience can be substituted for a degree

    • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Linux/Unix environments, with strong scripting skills in Bash and Python.

    • Experience with high-speed interconnects (e.g., Infiniband) and advanced networking in HPC environments.

    • Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and work independently to resolve them.
