Job Description

A client in the defense industry is looking to add a Materials Technician to their team in Palm Bay, FL. They will be responsible for working in the lab with 18 other technicians. They will be conducting metallurgical and electronics component cross-sectioning, and polishing such as sample prep, potting, etching, and microscopy. They will be working with hazardous chemicals and assisting with routine laboratory operations. They will also over molding and potting for cables and designing molds. They will be working on a 9/80 work schedule, so they get every other Friday off.

Skills and Requirements

High School Diploma

2-3 years of experience in materials laboratory

Experience with hands on testing, sample prep, spray painting, part finishing, cross -sectioning, polishing

Experience with adhesive bonding such as surface prep, cleaning, chemical etch, and application of coating systems IPC or AS9100

FTIR (Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy)
