Job Description
We are hiring an Electrical Engineer at a major industrial campus, supporting a complex site with over 100 buildings and multiple substations. In this embedded role, you’ll work directly with the client’s on-site leadership, providing technical expertise for utility infrastructure, grid management, and large-scale electrical projects. The role will be Monday - Friday, 6:30-3:30pm.
Key Responsibilities
• Analyze, design, and calculate electrical requirements for new and existing equipment, substations, and site expansions.
• Assess how new installations impact the site’s electrical grid and substation efficiency, ensuring reliable and efficient power distribution.
• Perform advanced electrical calculations, including power factor correction, motor sizing, and substation sizing for a campus-scale utility system.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical issues related to grid operations, substations, and large-scale utility infrastructure.
• Collaborate with the site’s master electrician and engineering team to develop solutions for unique power distribution challenges.
• Oversee and support the training and development of a team of direct reports, ensuring technical standards and compliance are met.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure all work aligns with regulatory, safety, and quality standards.
A Typical Day Might Include
• Meeting with the site’s master electrician to review upcoming projects and prioritize work.
• Calculating the electrical load and substation requirements for new equipment or building expansions.
• Walking the site to inspect substations, troubleshoot issues, and verify system performance.
• Reviewing and updating technical drawings, schematics, and documentation.
• Providing guidance and technical support to junior engineers or technicians.
• Responding to urgent issues affecting power distribution or grid reliability.
Ensuring all work is performed safely and in compliance with industry standards.

Skills and Requirements
Must Haves
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
- 5-6 years' experience in electrical engineering
• Experience with large-scale electrical distribution systems, substations, and grid calculations
• Ability to perform complex electrical calculations (power factor, motor sizing, substation sizing)
• Background working for a large distribution or energy company Plusses
- Experience working on sites with multiple substations (4-7 preferably)
Experience in highly regulated or pharmaceutical environments
