Job Description

A healthcare organization is seeking a Principal Network Security Architect to join its Application Security team in a fully remote role. This individual will play a critical leadership role in shaping and enforcing comprehensive security policies and standards across the network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in network fundamentals and be currently operating at the principal or architect level. In this role, the architect will be responsible for integrating advanced security practices into the network environment to proactively mitigate risks and ensure alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements. They will collaborate closely with engineering and business teams to define and promote secure engineering best practices, and will lead efforts during incident response situations, providing strategic guidance to ensure rapid and effective resolution. This is a high-impact position for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is passionate about driving security excellence across complex systems. They will be communicating up to executive leadership so ensuring that communication is streamlined and direct is important.

Skills and Requirements

10+ years of experience in Network Engineering

8+ years of experience working within Network Security

2-3 years of recent experience in principal/architect level of Network Security

Experience within cloud networking in AWS/Azure/GCP

In depth experience with firewalling – Palo Alto/ Cisco

CCIE Certification

Basic experience/knowledge of AI and how to implement it into network environments Ansible/Python for automation from a network perspective
