Job Description
Insight Global is searching for an Associate Engineering Technician. The Associate Engineering Technician is responsible for performing a variety of analytical and technical tasks related to the design, construction, maintenance, and operation of electrical power distribution systems. This role supports projects involving new distribution facilities for residential, commercial, and small industrial customers, as well as system improvements such as expansions, conversions, and rebuilds. The engineer works under limited supervision, following standardized procedures with some latitude for decision-making, and escalates complex issues as needed.
Key responsibilities include conducting field surveys, performing design calculations, preparing technical drawings and specifications, estimating labor and material costs, and updating GIS systems. The role also involves providing field support, applying engineering standards and safety codes, supporting emergency restoration efforts, and responding to internal and external project inquiries.
Compensation:
$25/hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.

Skills and Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Math or Physics And Completion of 6 hours of Algebra/Trigonometry/Calculus and 6 hours of Electrical/Electronics/Physics college course work
• Or Associate's Degree in Engineering Technology, Math, Physics or other related technical degree And 2 years design or utility distribution experience
• Or Completion of 60 hours equivalent college course work toward a technical degree, And 2 years design or utility distribution experience.
- Must possess a valid state Driver’s License.
- Experience preparing technical drawings and specificication
