Job Description
One of Insight Global's retail clients is looking for an experienced Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BCDR) Consultant with strong technical and project leadership skills. This role involves conducting Business Impact Analyses, developing and managing BCDR plans, coordinating tests and simulations, and advising on incident response and crisis management. Candidates should have deep knowledge of IT systems, cloud recovery solutions, and regulatory standards like ISO 22301 and NIST. Strong project management, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills are essential. Preferred qualifications include CBCP and PMP certifications, a relevant bachelor’s degree, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and BCM software. 10+ years of experience required, with at least 5 in a senior role.

Skills and Requirements
Technical BCDR experience
• Business Impact Analysis (BIA) and Risk Assessment: Experience conducting BIAs to identify and prioritize critical business functions and performing risk assessments to evaluate threats and vulnerabilities.
• Plan development and management: Demonstrated experience in developing, documenting, and maintaining comprehensive BCDR plans for different departments and systems.
• Testing and simulation: Hands-on experience coordinating and facilitating regular BCDR tests, exercises, and simulations, including tabletop exercises, to validate recovery strategies.
• Incident and crisis management: Experience assisting or leading incident response and crisis management teams during actual disruptive events.
• Technical knowledge: A solid understanding of IT systems, including network architecture, infrastructure, applications, and cloud-based disaster recovery solutions.
• Regulatory compliance: Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO 22301, NIST).
• Provide strategic oversight and expertise on large-scale BCDR program implementations.
• Advise executive leadership on risk mitigation and resilience strategies.
Project management (PM) skills
• Project leadership: Proven ability to lead projects, manage resources, and provide oversight for the BCDR program from initiation to completion.
• Planning and organization: Skilled in project planning, including defining scope, setting clear goals, identifying milestones, and creating project timelines.
• Stakeholder management: Experience collaborating with and managing expectations of diverse stakeholders, including senior leadership, business unit owners, and IT teams.
• Communication and reporting: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to deliver presentations to various levels of management and create clear documentation and reports.
• Risk and issue management: Ability to identify project risks and potential issues, develop mitigation strategies, and manage changes effectively.
• Continuous improvement: A proactive, outcome-focused mindset with experience analyzing project and test results to identify opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications and general skills
• Certifications: Professional certifications such as Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) or Project Management Professional (PMP) are often preferred.
• Education: A bachelor's degree in a related field such as Information Technology, Business Administration, or Risk Management is typically required.
• Analytical skills: Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities to assess complex situations and provide practical solutions.
• Adaptability: Ability to adapt quickly to evolving threats, changing priorities, and high-pressure situations.
• Software proficiency: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with Business Continuity Management (BCM) software is expected.
Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in BCDR, risk management, or a related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership or senior consulting role.
