POSITION SUMMARY:
Join our high-impact team developing next-gen Advanced Energy products for semiconductor and industrial temperature control. We're seeking a creative, results-driven engineering manager to lead a multi-disciplinary team (electrical, optical, software, sustaining) and drive product delivery from concept to launch.
This role oversees new product development and portfolio sustaining efforts at a division level, with strong visibility to customers and leadership. Occasional travel may be required.
Ideal candidates are systems thinkers with extensive electronic product development experience who thrive in coaching cultures, embrace technical challenges, and build agile, high-performing teams. RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Lead new platform implementations and rapid prototyping efforts.
+ Provide systems-level engineering leadership for measurement and control products.
+ Translate customer needs into detailed component requirements and ensure alignment.
+ Set clear goals and priorities, communicating them effectively to the team.
+ Apply agile methods to prioritize critical functionality and manage risks.
+ Drive best practices across a cross-functional design team.
+ Mentor and coach design engineers across US and international locations.
+ Oversee execution of programs following the Product Development Process (PDP).
+ Ensure creation and maintenance of essential project documentation.
+ Report progress and status to leadership against team commitments.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product management, NPI, purchasing, quality, program management, finance, safety, production).
+ Coordinate with advanced development teams to assess technology readiness.
+ Align with customer teams on requirements, integration, and issue resolution.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
+ On-site- Fort Collins, CO
+ Standard office environment.
+ Occasional travel domestic and international for short periods.
QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Strong problem-solving skills focused on quality, safety, cost, and delivery schedules.
+ Proven track record of successful electronic product launches.
+ Strong team player skills and attitude.
EXPERIENCE:
+ 8–10 years in the electronics industry, ideally with sensors, photo-electronics, or semiconductor process equipment.
+ Proven leadership in electronics and hardware projects; people management experience is a plus.
+ Skilled in agile project execution using tools like Jira, Smartsheet, or MS Project.
+ Strong background in circuit design analysis, prototyping, simulation, and validation—RF, electro-optical, or sensor expertise preferred.
+ Familiarity with lab test equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, DMMs, etc.) and debugging techniques.
+ Programming/scripting experience (e.g., assembly, C, C#, Python); Verilog/VHDL is advantageous.
+ Understanding of manufacturing processes including Gauge R&R, ECO, and production transfer.
+ Working knowledge of compliance standards (UL, CSA, ATEX, NEMA, ANSI, IPC); UL/CSA experience preferred.
EDUCATION:
+ Bachelor's degree Electrical Engineering (master’s or PhD preferred).
+ PMP or Agile certification preferred.
COMPENSATION:
_As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. The range of starting pay for this role is $130,000 to $175,000 per year._
