Summary This job opportunity is for an AIRCRAFT ORDNANCE SYSTEMS MECHANIC, position description D1736P01, within the 177 AMX SQ of the New Jersey National Guard. This vacancy announcement is a Title 32, Excepted Service position. The primary purpose of the position is to troubleshoot, repair, install, modify, test and adjust aircraft ordnance systems, equipment and components. Responsibilities As an AIRCRAFT ORDNANCE SYSTEMS MECHANIC, WG-6652-11, you will: Review and analyze aircrew debriefs and data transfer equipment information Solve aircraft ordnance malfunctions by analyzing the installation, circuitry and operating characteristics of the electronic ordnance system Remove faulty units (matrix assemblies) and isolate problems to failing component parts Analyze equipment malfunctions and repair systems and perform aircraft weapons systems functional checks Conduct off-equipment troubleshooting and functional checks of electronic weapons control systems Perform scheduled and unscheduled in-use/in-storage inspections and maintenance Compatibility: Must hold 2W1X1 AFSC Requirements Conditions of Employment Additional Employment Requirements: Participation in direct deposit is mandatory May be required to successfully complete a probationary period Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service You may be required to successfully complete a 1- or 2- year probation/trail period to assess performance, conduct, agency needs, public interest, and efficiency.
