Job Description Summary
The Electrical Power System Analysis Lead Engineer will serve as the prime technical focal responsible for the system analysis of GE Aerospace’s hybrid electric architecture studies. The individual will oversee technical integrity of electrical power system models through the lifecycle of development, maturation, and sustainment to have a robust tool set to be used for system design, validation, and verification. The role reports to the Hybrid Electric Electrical Components Manager within the GE Aerospace Future of Flight Organization and is essential towards the safe and effective execution of GE Aerospace’s suite of hybrid electric technology maturation programs. These programs serve as the foundational platforms for maturing hybrid electric and other technologies central to the realization of the aviation industry’s sustainability goals in the first half of the 21st century.
Successful GE Aerospace electrical power system engineers possess a diversity of educational backgrounds including, but not limited to: electrical, mechanical, systems, and controls engineering.
Job Description
Essential** **Responsibilities:
As the Electrical Power System Analysis Lead Engineer, you will:
+ Serve as the prime technical focal responsible for the system analysis of GE Aerospace’s hybrid electric architecture studies
+ Serve as the prime technical focal responsible for ownership of electrical power system models across a diversity of modeling platforms and configuration management tools
+ Participate in effective operating rhythms (daily management and technical reviews) for the development and validation of electrical system models
+ Own the technology roadmap for model-based design of electrical power systems and the controls of their constituent conversion components
+ Drive continuity between models outside of the electrical system domain to ensure overall system representativeness
+ Support the leveraging, creation, adaptation, and maintenance of standard work to ensure the accessibility and usability of modeling environments for a diversity of stakeholders
+ Utilize system models to define and formalize system, test, hardware, software, and human integration requirements
+ Develop and maintain a strong network with experts across GE Aerospace worksites – Engines, Electrical Power, and Research
+ Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
+ Apply and define GE best practices for model-based development
+ Present results to internal (GE) and external (customer, agency, government, …) customers
+ Collaborate effectively in a diverse, global, distributed work environment

Qualifications/Requirements:
+ Bachelor’s Degree in engineering from an accredited college or university
+ Minimum of 3 years' experience in the field of electrical power systems
+ Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
Desired Characteristics:
+ Highly motivated, self-starting, and passionate
+ Experience with electrical system modeling tools – PLECS, LTspice, Simulink, etc.
+ Experience with power electronic components developed through the GE Aerospace design process
+ Experience with electrical power system test environments
+ Knowledge of thermodynamics and heat transfer
+ Demonstrated team leadership, collaboration, and facilitation skills
+ Exceptional communication skills and willingness to continually improve communication and influencing skills in more-distributed work environments
+ Flexible and friendly approach to working in teams
+ Keen listener and innate drive to succeed
