Description
Leidos Civil Transportation Solutions is seeking a Software Development Engineer who will be part of a dynamic team working on the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), ERAM Adaptation Data Processing (EADP) Application which is part of En Route Automation Modernization (ERAM) program. ERAM is a major FAA system used in the US for air traffic control in en route (high-altitude) airspace providing advanced capabilities for tracking aircraft, processing flight plans, controller tools like conflict alerts and weather integration, and handling high volumes of aircraft simultaneously and efficiently. ERAM EADP provides management of adaptation data integrating published flight data such as fixes, airports, airways, departure procedures, and standard terminal arrival procedures with locally managed data entered by the user and computed data such as facility boundaries, buffered boundaries and other data derived via various algorithms.
Primary Responsibilities:
+ _The functions under EADP include:_
+ _Relational Database and Adaptation Data Processing Programming_
+ _Data modeling and implementation of complex data models to support air traffic control in various environments and geographical areas_
+ _Ada/C Interface Programming_
+ _System Maintenance Concepts_
+ _Front end user interface design and backend data processing architecture and design_
+ _Software development responsibilities are:_
+ _Detailed knowledge of Linux OS and OS concepts desirable._
+ _Developing and maintaining the FAA air traffic control software (primarily Ada95/C++) on a UNIX/Linux platform._
+ _Developing Oracle/Relational Database applications including Oracle Forms, PL/SQL, and Pro*C_
+ _Developing Ada/C Interfaces_
+ _Coordinate the development of new capabilities and upgrade to adaptation processing and XML schemas for adaptation XML provided to applications via APIs._
+ _Coordinate Solutions with Systems Engineering_
+ _CAS Integration Concepts ERAM Tools Development_
+ _Provide teaching / mentoring to junior levels_
+ _Collaborate with team members across multiple areas_
+ _Provide leadership and guidance to support functions_
+ _Other software development related duties as assigned_
Required Qualifications:
+ Bachelors degree with 2+ years relevant experience
+ Ability to obtain and maintain an SF-85P Public Trust clearance from the FAA customer
+ Proficient programming skills with the following
+ Linux/UNIX – key – really hard for someone who has never worked on UNIX
+ SQL and/or Sql*Plus
+ Relational DB
+ C/C++/Pro*C
+ Demonstrated Software Development Skills/Capabilities
+ Demonstrated ability to debug and solve problems
+ A Strong desire to learn
+ Work Experience in a Technical organization performing Software Engineering Tasks
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Data Modeling/Windchill
+ Leadership Skills & Experience
+ Excellent Verbal and Communication Skills
+ Skilled at working in formal, dynamic and geographically dispersed work environments
+ Flight Plan Processing and analysis including knowledge of air traffic airspace concepts (fixes, airports, airways, FPAs, sectors)
+ Experience with Oracle
+ Experience with Ada
+ Experience with XML/XSD

Pay Range:
Pay Range $67,600.00 - $122,200.00
