Software Quality Engineer – Ensure Excellence in Aviation Software
$60–$90/hour (based on experience) | 1st Shift | 9x80 Schedule | 6:00 AM – 3:30 PM
About the Role
PDS Tech Commercial is hiring an **experienced Software Quality Engineer** to join our client’s **world-class aviation engineering team** . In this role, you’ll oversee all phases of the software development lifecycle to ensure delivered aircraft software meets the highest standards of **design integrity, regulatory compliance, and mission-critical reliability** . Your contributions will play a key role in upholding safety, quality, and performance across complex aerospace programs.
Key Responsibilities
+ Interface with systems and software engineers, test and evaluation teams, and project managers to ensure alignment and compliance.
+ Review and approve system, software, and test equipment requirements, designs, and documentation for adherence to established standards.
+ Participate in software change control boards and ensure proper configuration management practices.
+ Support software process audits and ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
+ Collaborate closely with engineering counterparts to maintain compliance with company and program standards.
+ Mentor and train junior engineers as needed.
+ Moderate travel may be required to support program audits and supplier oversight.
Required Qualifications
+ Minimum **11 years of related experience** in aerospace or defense software processes (e.g., **RTCA DO-178C, DO-278A, DO-254, SAE ARP-4754, MIL-STD-498** , etc.).
+ Experience supporting **government or FAA programs** preferred.
+ Working knowledge of **audit techniques** , **software development** , and **testing methodologies** .
+ Ability to interpret **schematic drawings, specifications, and contracts** to develop and review systems/software processes.
+ Hands-on experience in **software requirements development, design, and coding** (C/C++, Ada, or other embedded languages).
+ Background or knowledge in **embedded software/hardware verification** .
+ Strong communication skills—written, verbal, and technical.
+ Proficiency with **Microsoft Office** applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
Education
+ **Bachelor’s degree required** in **Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering** (preferred).

**Pay Details:** $60.00 to $90.00 per hour
