You will collaborate closely with engineers, architects, planners, and designers to develop high-quality renderings, animations, and interactive experiences for infrastructure, water, environmental services, energy, mining, community development, and architectural projects.
While the preferred office location is Boston/Burlington, MA hybrid and/or remote working arrangements may also be considered for the preferred candidate.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Handle and manage extremely large 2D/3D datasets from CAD applications including Revit, MicroStation, OpenRoads, AutoCAD, Civil3D, ESRI, and Rhino.
- Develop and implement GIS/ESRI workflows tailored for visualization projects and geospatial data integration.
- Perform Civil3D conversions and apply advanced production methods to optimize data for visualization workflows.
- Conduct research and development in cutting-edge technologies (Gaussian splat, AI automation, Digital Twin, etc.) to advance Stantec’s visualization capabilities and deliver cutting-edge deliverables.
- Design and maintain custom 3ds Max tools and scripts used across visualization teams to improve efficiency and consistency.
- Create infrastructure and roadway models from MicroStation/OpenRoads data for high-quality rendering and animation outputs.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure visualization deliverables align with technical accuracy, design intent, and project timelines.
Technical Skills
- Advanced proficiency in 3ds Max, V-Ray, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Strong understanding of CAD, GIS, and BIM workflows for visualization.
- Strong understanding of real-time rendering software (Vantage, TwinMotion, Unreal Engine) and emerging visualization technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to manage large and complex datasets across multiple software environments.
- Experience with scripting and automation (MAXScript, Python, or similar).
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Visualization, Architecture, Engineering, Digital Media, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in 3D visualization, preferably in the AEC industry.
