Job Summary
Under general direction, performs maintenance, repair fabrication, and installation of architectural building finishes, items/tasks such as: calculates quantity of materials needed and requisitions lumber, hardware and other supplies.
Essential Functions
+ Responsible for locksmith duties including building maintenance program inspection and repairs.
+ Responsible for repairing any holes in walls larger than 16" x 16" in size, including taping, mudding and sanding.
+ Selects stock, tools and supplies such as fasteners and adhesives used to repairs architectural surfaces.
+ Removes and replaces non-functional hardware, cabinetry, counter-tops, shelving, partitions, doors, windows, walls, floors, furniture and building framework using power tools such as planer, sander, saws and drills or hand tools such as planes, chisels, rasps and saws (in a safe manner according to manufacturers and departmental guidelines) in a safe, effective and sufficient manner in response to or in support of customer needs.
Range of Pay
+ Pay starting between $24.70 and $30.16 per hour.
Qualifications
Required
+ High School Diploma or equivalent
+ 5 years of documented work experience in the maintenance, repair, fabrication and installation of architectural building finishes in a 400,00 sq. ft. commercial or institutional facility.
+ 2 years of relevant experience 2 years of commercial locksmith experience
Preferred
+ Completion of a formal carpentry apprenticeship
