Occupational Health Physician
Summary:
Vighter is recruiting dedicated and compassionate Occupational Health Physicians to join our healthcare team with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Louisville, KY. The Occupational Health Physician provides medical expertise to promote employee health, prevent workplace injuries and illnesses, and ensure compliance with occupational safety and health regulations. This role includes performing medical evaluations, managing work-related conditions, advising on workplace health policies, and collaborating with employers to foster a safe and healthy work environment. The standard of care shall be of a quality, meeting or exceeding all currently recognized national standards.
Principle Accountabilities:
+ Conduct pre-employment, periodic, and fitness-for-duty medical examinations.
+ Diagnose, treat, and manage occupational injuries and illnesses.
+ Provide medical guidance on workplace accommodations, restrictions, and return-to-work decisions.
+ Advise employers on compliance with OSHA, ADA, FMLA, and other regulatory standards.
+ Develop and implement occupational health programs, including wellness, injury prevention, ergonomics, and health promotion.
+ Collaborate with safety officers, HR, management, and external healthcare providers.
+ Deliver education and training to employees on health, safety, and wellness topics.
+ Participate in emergency preparedness and response activities, including first aid and disaster planning.
Education:
+ MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school. Board certified or board eligible in Occupational Medicine, Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Preventive Medicine .
+ Physician shall have a current license to practice medicine in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia.
+ All licenses held by the personnel working on this contract shall be full and unrestricted licenses. Contract physician(s) who have current, full and unrestricted licenses in one or more states, but who have, or ever had, a license restricted, suspended, revoked, voluntarily revoked, voluntarily surrendered pending action or denied upon application will not be considered for the purposes of this contract.
Qualifications:
+ BLS and CPR are mandatory certifications.
+ Contractor must provide a copy of their DEA certificate.
Duty Hours / On-call Requirements:
+ The expected duty hours for this position are 4 hours per week.
