    Currently we have an Mechanical Designer role open. This position designs mechanisms, structures, circuitry and controls for products to meet Link-Belt goals of Quality, Cost and Delivery.

    Essential functions of the position include:

    + Prepare and check calculations to determine size, strength, or other information limiting or governing the performance and/or design of a new or existing product

    + Prepare and check detail drawings for accuracy and conformance to Link-Belt Design Policies

    + Create layouts of new designs or revisions to existing designs

    + Interact with suppliers to obtain component information and establish component specifications

    + Prepare and check engineering orders per Link-Belt Design policies

    + Produce and revise bill of materials per Link-Belt Design policies

    + Calculate weights and center of gravities for components and assemblies

    + Prepare and review assembly drawings for proper fit, completeness and including all necessary dimensions

    + Investigate and design solutions for "sales specials" request as needed

    + Investigate field service issues and make recommendations for corrections

    + Support prototype assembly process as needed

    + Support manufacturing areas as needed during assembly, welding, and machining processes

    + Resolve manufacturing issues identified by production engineering, material sourcing, welders and assemblers

    + Coordinate the work of other personnel to complete design

    General qualifications for this role:

    + 2-year college degree in mechanical or electrical design technology

    + Four (4) years of proven design experience in crane industry or eight (8) years in the heavy equipment industry
